have a friend who wants to go to work in England as a social worker. Personally, I think she wants to have an audience with the Queen and have some tea with her. But anyway, I take her at her word.
I also wish I could go to the UK, but not to do social work, (some call pastoring social work) but to study Theology. It’s not that I don’t like it here in Australia, or don’t like studying through SATS. But the UK, has always fancied me, since I used to listen to Heavy Metal Bands from Britain that were considered the best, and let’s face it, The Beatles introduced me to Old England. So it seems that the British can produce some of the best stuff in the world.
Well, if you want to take the plunge, and maybe even meet the Queen or some Royal, go to the UK, and take your pick of University. Of course, Durham, Cambridge and Oxford come as the three best options, but N. T. Wright’s home, St. Andrews, comes as fifth in the list! ( I wonder if just by him joining the Faculty of Divinity made them jump 5 positions up?).
I give you the link here for you to peruse.
And yes Jim West, I am Wright groupie!!
